A Letter from the President

As a wide eyed freshman on the Brooklyn College campus, I always knew I’d join a sorority just as my mother did before me. Craving the typical college experience at a commuter school, joining AEPhi was my way to be a part of a community of women who loved and supported each other. Little did I know, that support would be never ending-- radiating from the Atlantic to the Pacific and even in Canada. Who knew at every chapter in the country I’d find a group of women just as clumsy and food loving as me.

Being a part of a sorority, a sisterhood is an honor and responsibility that only few get to experience. Being a sister of AEPhi means that every day we have the chance to show others that Greek Life is more than what they see in the movies and on the news. It means we have the chance to make countless connections to others that share our values, while also helping the community. It means that we are not ashamed or embarrassed to admit we went Greek when we got to college. We're not ashamed to cover our cars and laptop in stickers representing our organization and we're not embarrassed that most of our clothes are stitched letters of outrageous colors.

Being a sister of AEPhi means that despite the arguments and disagreements, we will always be proud and supportive of our sisters. It means being a part of something bigger than just ourselves. There is nothing better than being a sorority woman. I’ve had a great foundation laid for me and now it’s time for me to leave my mark on our tight knit community. One day, I’ll be gone and AEPhi is going to need someone new to guide it, continue it down the path of greatness, that's you! An AEPhi sister who will preside with as much beauty, strength, and wisdom as her sisters did before her.
